Summer Ballet Intensive: July 27 - August 8, 2009

BalletForte and Fort Bend Academy of Dance will host our 8th annual Summer Ballet Intensive Workshop July 27 thru August 8, 2009. This workshop is designed for students, ages 12 and older, who have a passion for dance, who want to improve their technical skills and artistry working toward a professional dance career, or who simply want to enjoy mastering the art of dance as a serious hobby.

This intensive program will begin with a placement class on Monday, July 27th at 9:00 a.m. Dancers will be divided into levels based upon their skills as determined by the faculty and directors. All placement decisions are final and are not subject to question by participants or parents. Each level will attend approximately four classes each day plus rehearsals, and will benefit from the expertise of all guest faculty members. Classes will begin immediately after the placement class and will run consecutively, excluding Sunday, until August 2nd . All classes and rehearsals are closed to visitors or observation. Lunch each day will be the responsibility of each dancer. You may bring a lunch or purchase lunch at any of the neighboring shops. The workshop will culminate with a demonstration performance on Saturday August 8th at Barnevelder Movement/Arts Complex.

Dress code during the workshop will be as follows:
Females will need: Ballet/Pointe & Modern : Black Leotards (solid, no skirt, no ruffles), pink convertible tights, pink ballet shoes, pink pointe shoes and hair in a bun.

Jazz : Black Leotard, Black tights or Black jazz pants, black split sole jazz shoes and hair in a bun.
Character : Black Leotards (solid, no skirt, no ruffles), pink convertible tights, black or tan character shoes and a black character skirt.

Males will need: Ballet/Jazz/ Modern/ Character : Black tights or Jazz pants, white T-shirt, black ballet shoes and jazz shoes.

Tuition for the workshop is $350. To register for the workshop a deposit of $100 (non-refundable) is required, with the balance of $250 due on July 30th.
